Foxfield Weekend

I've finally got my ticket (still working on a ride).

My co-worker and I were discussing how insane it is that every place that sells Foxfield tickets had sold out more than a week before the event.

I'm curious how much money Foxfield makes off of this event. It has to be a lot. But how much?

Plain Invitation Tickets were $40 each.
Plain Invitation Parking Passes were $30 each.
Carpool Passes (5 tickets + parking) were $200.

If we even assume that there were only 10,000 people there (that has to be an underestimate) and that every person came in a group of 5 and so all they sold were Carpool passes, that'd be $400,000.

But then there were lots of other options for tickets:

Orange/Green Inside Rail plot + 4 tickets = $300.
Orange/Green Infield plot + 4 tickets = $275.

And then there were lots of ones where the prices aren't even listed on the website (which generally means $$$$$$).

How many people come to Foxfield? 10k? 15k? 20k? The attendance estimates for 2001 were between 28k and 30k. So if you take that at 30k (just to make the numbers easier) and use my original assumption (which would be the minimum amount of money they'd make), then they'd be getting $1.2 million.

Damn.

I guess that's what happens when the University takes away all of the events (easters, midwinters, etc) from the students and this is the only event that can come close to filling that void (though I know it's nowhere close to the same kind of event).
